Mr. Paul Mangara is a Public Health Specialist with over a decade’s experience in Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC), Early Infant Male Circumcision (EIMC), and Sexual and Reproductive Health Services. Paul is the Quality Assurance and Training Advisor for CHAPS Eswatini. Paul has worked in the field of HIV infection prevention and control in Zimbabwe from 2005 and Eswatini from 2009 to date.
Paul played a vital role in leading the VMMC team at FLAS to circumcise more than 25,000 males from 2009 to September 2017. After joining CHAPS, Paul contributed to CHAPS Eswatini’s 57,000 circumcisions. Paul is a National Master Trainer in VMMC and EIMC. Since 2010, Paul has trained and supervised doctors, nurses, and counselors in developing and achieving Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision professional expertise. Paul is a certified Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Online Training Hub Moderator (OTH). Paul is currently completing a master’s in public health.
He has worked with the Eswatini National Quality Assurance team to develop standard operating procedures for the VMMC program Paul participated in VMMC External Quality Assessments in Botswana with BOFWA, participated in the WHO EQA for MMC with the National Department of Health in South Africa and has been trained on and participated in Site Improvement through Monitoring Systems, an exercise routinely conducted by USAID. Paul is proud of the CHAPS team and is growing with CHAPS as the organization continues to grow and positively impact on thousands of Swazi lives.
